Being part of a bigger community is so helpful. Transgender Heaven<\/a> is a great place to start. The site is very active, not an inactive site like many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I joined last year, there is a FREE membership option as well as the subscription levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold membership.

The site is extremely helpful and well moderated. I feel safe there and amongst fellow trans people, many of whom I now regard as good friends.
The site welcomes, MTF (male to female) and FTM (female to male) membership.
Even if you are just considering transition, you’re undecided, would like to know more…I can’t think of a better place to visit.
I was welcomed there from day one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topics include: forums, articles, chatroom, member messaging and private groups…and that is the tip of the iceberg!
A global membership is represented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being in transition can be a very lonely experience. Even surrounded and supported by friends and family (if you are luck enough) the questions you need answers to are not going to be found amongst them.
Some things you can’t ask of anyone other than someone who is going through the same things as you. A friendly ‘lol’ or word of encouragement is like a light in the dark. We all need that from time to time.

Whatever you are feeling, you can be sure you are not the first.

Am I transgender?<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A question asked by everyone I think, and how can you really tell?
Transgender people are all different, so there are no fixed answers or signs.

I often hear people say things like, ‘I knew at 7years old that I was a girl, I played with my sisters dolls and dressed up in my mothers clothes.’
That is one indication, perhaps but I don’t think it is concrete proof.
I didn’t dress up in woman’s clothes when I was seven…and had no sisters dolls to play with; at that time…I was an only child. I do have a vague memory of putting on lipstick…but that is all.
The point I am trying to make is that the only way to find out if you are a transperson is to be yourself with other transpeople. Chat and listen, the answer will slowly reveal itself one way or the other. Once again I say, every transperson is different, there are no fixed answers or checkboxes.
I have found Transgender Heaven to be where I feel most comfortable, my favourite meeting place. I just like the company and the friendship, the advice and the knowledge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
